Avatar is a 2009 sci-fi movie that tells the story of Jake Sully, a paraplegic former Marine who joins the Avatar Program, a project that allows humans to control genetically engineered bodies of an alien race called the Na’vi. Jake travels to Pandora, a moon where the Na’vi live, and falls in love with Neytiri, a Na’vi princess. He also learns to respect the culture and environment of Pandora, and becomes involved in a conflict between the humans and the Na’vi over a precious mineral called unobtanium.  The movie is directed by James Cameron and features stunning visual effects and 3D technology.
