Movie Review:
Dasara is a gripping, rustic and raw period action movie that showcases the bond of friendship, love, caste dynamics and power play in a village. The director, a debutant, has done a commendable job in presenting the story in a manner that immerses the viewer in the world of the movie. The visuals by Sathyan Sooryan are stunning and add to the overall immersive experience.
The movie revolves around Dharani (Nani) and his best friend Suri (Dheekshith) and their gang of friends. The introduction sequence of the gang, where they steal coal from a moving train, is daredevilish and sets the tone for the movie. The local bar, reserved for the upper-caste men, is where the power dynamics come into play. Drinking is a tradition and a way of life in the village.
The interval action sequence is well shot and infuses a sense of shock and fear in the viewer. Nani gives a believable performance as Dharani, who seeks revenge. Keerthy Suresh's performance is effortless and proves why she is one of the best mainstream actresses.
However, the movie has some flaws. The timing of a couple of songs is haphazard, and there should have been some more gripping episodes to create an emotional connect with the audience. The impactful scenes are less, other than the pre-interval sequence. The climax looks fierce, but it lacks logic and becomes too predictable.

The BGM has little impact in creating any magic/effect overall. The movie is a one-time watch, and those giving it a rating of 10 on 10 are exaggerating. Nonetheless, the director's efforts, considering he is a debutant, are laudable, and the team deserves applause for their natural appeal.
In conclusion, Dasara is a must-watch for those who enjoy action movies with a touch of rustic charm. Nani's performance and the immersive visuals make it an entertaining watch. However, those looking for a nuanced and thought-provoking movie may be disappointed.
