Movie Review :
Mrs Undercover is a movie that has garnered mixed reactions from viewers. While some found it to be an unexpectedly enjoyable surprise, others were left disappointed. The standout element of the film is Radhika Apte's performance as Durga, an undercover agent struggling with her homemaker duties. Apte's portrayal strikes a chord with many women who can relate to the challenges of balancing work and family. Her disorganized body language effectively captures the perpetual rush of a homemaker. Despite this, some viewers feel that Apte should work on her diction and move away from the Marathi accent for such roles.

Rajesh Sharma's character portrayal as the clumsy Special Force Chief is another highlight of the film. He effortlessly embodies the role of a buffoon and brings a touch of charm to it. However, Sumeet Vyas's talent feels wasted in his role as the quintessential villain, leaving viewers wondering why his character is so misogynistic and lacking depth.
The movie revolves around a serial killer who targets women and secret agents, with Durga being the last agent standing. The plot takes some absurd turns, such as the inclusion of an international organization aiming to eliminate feminism from the world. These elements may come across as silly and detract from the film's attempt to be taken seriously. One memorable scene involves Rajesh Sharma disguised as a waiter in a restaurant, imparting lessons on women empowerment to Durga's patriarchal husband.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Undercover falls short in several areas. The direction is criticized for lacking focus and not fully utilizing the talented cast. The action sequences, considering the movie's Special Force theme, fail to impress and appear sluggish. Some viewers also point out plot holes and an underdeveloped storyline, with characters disappearing without explanation and events happening without proper justification.
Despite its flaws, the film manages to entertain and holds the attention of the audience. It offers a refreshing change from the typical Bollywood fare and receives praise for its comedy elements. Radhika Apte's performance, along with Rajesh Sharma's portrayal, is particularly appreciated by viewers. However, the film's direction and action sequences leave much to be desired.
Mrs. Undercover is not without its controversies. Some viewers argue that the movie projects feminism in the wrong manner, portraying a clichéd narrative of a flirtatious husband and an undervalued wife striving for a work-life balance. The use of Hindu slokas as background music is seen as a cover-up attempt. However, it is acknowledged that the film is a comedy and should not be taken too seriously.

In conclusion, Mrs. Undercover elicits a range of reactions from viewers. While it has its entertaining moments and standout performances, particularly from Radhika Apte, the film falls short in terms of direction, action, and overall execution. It is an enjoyable watch for those seeking a light-hearted comedy, but it may leave some viewers wanting more depth and coherence in the storyline.
