Vijay comes to know about the incident and decides to protect his family from the law. He devises a plan to hide the body and create an alibi for his family. He uses his knowledge of movies and his contacts to execute his plan. He also trains his family to stick to the same story.
Meanwhile, Meera starts investigating her son's disappearance. She suspects Vijay's involvement and arrests him and his family. She interrogates them harshly but fails to find any evidence or inconsistency in their statements. She also searches Vijay's house and office but finds nothing.
Vijay challenges Meera to find the body within 48 hours or else he will file a complaint against her for harassment. Meera accepts the challenge and tries to find clues. She follows Vijay's movements on the day of the incident and discovers that he had gone to a restaurant, a movie theater, a hotel, and a church with his family. She also learns that he had met several people who vouched for his presence.
Meera is puzzled by Vijay's perfect alibi and wonders how he managed to hide the body in such a short time. She realizes that Vijay must have used his cable network to manipulate the CCTV footage of the places he visited. She also suspects that he must have bribed or threatened the witnesses to lie for him.
Meera decides to dig up Vijay's backyard, where she thinks he buried the body. However, she is shocked to find the carcass of a dog instead. She then receives a call from Vijay, who taunts her for failing to find the body.
He reveals that he had moved the body from his backyard to an under-construction police station, where it was buried under concrete. He also tells her that he had planted the dog's carcass in his backyard as a decoy.
